SGTBIMIT ascertains, preserves and disseminates knowledge. Since the establishment of SGTBIMIT in 2008, it has aimed to promote excellence in professional education and inspire research and extension work in the emerging areas of higher education in Management, Banking, Insurance and Information Technology. "A" degree level institute, approved by Directorate of Higher Education (Govt of NCT of Delhi) certified by ISO 9001:2015 and affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. Located in the heart of the city, adjoining Gurudwara Nanak Piao, hardly 1 km away from North Campus (DU) and Model town Metro Station. Ever since its inception, SGTBIMIT has consistently shaped students who have outshined in academics and professional endeavors.

Our History

Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Management & Information Technology, a SIKH Institution, was founded by the DSGMC, with the primary objective of providing University Education in a nice atmosphere for deserving students irrespective of caste and creed.

It started functioning in 2008 with just 120 students on the rolls in two undergraduate courses of BCA & BBA.

SGTBIM&IT is a degree level institute, affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, approved by directorate of higher education (GOVT OF NCT OF DELHI), certified by ISO 9001-2008 . SGTBIM&IT, though affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh indraprastha University. In the sense that it is empowered to frame its own course of studies and adopt innovative methods of teaching and evaluation. The University degrees will be conferred on the students passing the examinations conducted by the university.

The story of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Management and Information technology (SGTBIM &IT) goes back to the chain of schools and colleges under DSGMC that offer an attractive option of world class education.

SGTBIM&IT was established to promote excellence in professional education and promote studies, research and extension work in the emerging areas of higher education in Management, Information Technology, Banking & Insurance.

Located in the heart of the city, adjacent to Gurudwara Nanak Piao (GT Karnal Road, New Delhi), hardly 1 km away from north campus (DU). Today, we have three U.G courses (BCA , BBA(G) & BBA(B&I)) . At present, we have well educated teaching staff members . & non-teaching staff in service.

SEXUAL HARRASMENT

SEXUAL HARASSMENT OF WOMEN AT WORKPLACE

The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 is a legislative act in Indiathat seeks to protect women from sexual harassment at their place of work.

An Act to provide protection against sexual harassment of women at workplace and for the prevention and redressal of complaints of sexual harassment and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

WHEREAS sexual harassment results in violation of the fundamental rights of a woman to equality under articles 14 and 15 of the Constitution of India and her right to life and to live with dignity under article 21 of the Constitution and right to practice any profession or to carry on any occupation, trade or business which includes a right to a safe environment free from sexual harassment;

AND WHEREAS the protection against sexual harassment and the right to work with dignity are universally recognised human rights by international conventions and instruments such as Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women, which has been ratified on the 25th June, 1993 by the Government of India;

AND WHEREAS it is expedient to make provisions for giving effect to the said Convention for protection of women against sexual harassment at workplace.

PREVENTION OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT

All female Students, Faculty, Staff having any complaint related to Sexual Harassment are to report the matter immediately to Women’s Grievance Redressal Committee at the Institute.

Sexually colored remarks;

Showing Pornography; and

Any other unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of sexual nature.

The Training & Placement Division assists in Campus Placements for the graduating students at SGTBIMIT.

Training & Placement Officials and the Volunteers provide whole-hearted assistance to the recruiters for Pre-placement Discussions, Conducting Tests & Interviews and Hospitality of the Campus hiring Team.

To Bridge the gap of Current Technical trends in Corporate world, TnP Division has tied up with leading Training companies .

Training and Placement Division actively enhances verbal and non-verbal skills while training the students in business etiquettes, e-mailing, telephonic conversation, grooming, and table manners. Students are trained to handle work related pressures and social networking. They are being prepared on technical ability and aptitude. The Division conducts Group Discussion, Personal Interviews, Technical and Aptitude test on continuous basis to keep the students up to date.

What Constitutes Ragging?
Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited, within the premises of College/Department or Institution
As per the AICTE/UGC/DCI Regulations & the Directions of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India "Ragging" Constitutes one or more of any of the following Acts with or without any intention by any Student or Group of Students;

Any act of Indiscipline, Teasing or Handling with Rudeness.

Any act that Prevents, Disrupts or Disturbs the Regular Academic Activity.

Any activity which is likely to cause Annoyance, Hardships, Physical or Psychological Harm or creates Fear.

Any Act of Physical Abuse causing Assault, Harm or Danger to Health or life.

Any act of Abuse by Spoken Words, e-mail, SMS, MMS or Public Insult etc.

Any act of Injury to the Fundamental Right to Human Dignity.

Any act of Wrongful Confinement, use of Criminal Force Trespass or Intimidation.

Any Unlawful Assembly or Abatement or Conspiracy to "Ragging".

Steps taken by SGTBIMIT for Prevention of

To prevent the menace of ragging, Anti-Ragging Committee has been constituted in the College.

CCTV Cameras have been installed in various places .

To curb the menace of ragging and to maintain discipline, Proctorial Board has also been formed in the College.

Ragging:

Note: All Students are under CCTV Surveillance.

Punishment to Those Found Guilty:

Any Student or Group of Students found guilty of "Ragging" in the Campus or Hostels or College Buses or even outside the Campus shall be liable for one or more of the following Punishment;

Suspension from Attending Classes and Academic Privileges.

Debarring from Appearing in any Sessional Test/University Examination.

F.I.R. against the Concerned Student or Group of Students.

Withdrawing Scholarship and other Benefits.

Fine to the Concerned Student or Group of Students.

Rustication from the Institution .

Entry in the Character/Transfer Certificates regarding the Punishment given for any Act of "Ragging".
