“Harit Kalash Yatra” by Eco Club

On 1st October 2024, The “Harit Kalash Yatra” was held in Delhi as part of a public awareness campaign aimed at promoting environmental conservation and the development of green spaces in the city. Volunteers of ECO CLUB from SGTBIMIT actively participated in the event, alongside various environmental groups. The yatra, which took place at Connaught Place, highlighted the importance of increasing green cover in urban areas to combat pollution and improve the overall ecological balance. Carrying symbolic green kalash (pots), the participants walked through key areas, spreading messages on sustainability and encouraging community involvement in tree plantation and green initiatives. SWACHHTA Hi SEWA CAMPAIGN 2024

Swachhta Hi Seva (SHS) campaign-2024 is a nationwide initiative launched by the Government of India. The campaign aims to promote cleanliness and hygiene across the country with the theme of ‘Swabhav Swachhata - Sanskaar Swachhata’. SGTBIMIT contributed significantly to the cause by organizing an awareness drive/campaign in the vicinity of the Institute on September 27th, 2024. The drive aimed to promote cleanliness, hygiene, and proper waste management among the local community. The event was flagged by Hon’ble General Secretary DSGMC S. Jagdip Singh Kahlon Ji, our revered Chairman Sir S. Jasbir Singh Jassi Ji and other esteemed members S. Jaspreet Singh Karamsar Ji, S. Sarvjit Singh Virk Ji, S. Jatinderpal Singh Goldy Ji, S. Inderjit Singh Monty Ji, S. Gurmeet Singh Ji, S. Rameet Singh Chadha Ji also marked their valuable presence. Our worthy Director Prof.(Dr.) Navneet Kaur ma’am motivated the students for the noble cause and Assistant Director Sir S. Virender Singh also shared his words of wisdom. During the event, over 60 enthusiastic students actively participated in educating the public about the importance of keeping the environment clean.The students also distributed pamphlets citing the importance of ‘Garbage Free India’. They interacted with residents, shopkeepers, and pedestrians, encouraging them to adopt better hygiene practices and avoid littering. In alignment with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on ‘SWACHTA HI SEVA’ Campaign, SGTBIMIT organized a Waste to art event on September 26th 2024, with the active participation of students, faculty, and staff. This Champaign is aimed to a clarion call to all citizens to engage in the mission of cleaning up their surroundings.It is about more than just removing garbage from streets: it is about changing our mindset towards cleanliness and making it a way of life . 25-30 students participated in this competition The *Waste to Art* competition was a huge success in which students transformed waste into creative art pieces. Plantation Drive on ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Campaign

In alignment with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Campaign, SGTBIMIT organized a plantation drive on September 17th 2024, with the active participation of students, faculty, and staff. The event aimed to promote environmental sustainability by increasing greenery around the campus. A total of 100 saplings, including native species like Neem, Banyan, and Gulmohar, were planted. The event was conducted to highlight the importance of trees in combating pollution and climate change.Students eagerly took part, pledging to take care of the saplings and ensure their growth. The plantation drive not only beautified the college premises but also instilled a sense of environmental responsibility in the participants.
