Whipping up the patriotic fervour ahead of Independence Day, students of SGTBIMIT took out a Tiranga Yatra under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign today. Ahead of the 75th Independence Day this year, the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month. It aims at evoking a feeling of patriotism by exhorting people across the country to hoist the national flag between August 13 and 15, when the country completes 75 years of its independence. NSS Unit of SGTBIMIT flagged off the rally at 12 pm which was attended by NSS programme coordinators, NSS student volunteers, faculty members and other staff. It was commenced by our Director, Prof. (Dr). Navneet Kaur, Assistant Director, S. Verender Singh Ji, our head of Departments and NSS programme coordinators. The rally was taken around State Bank Colony where students showcased national integration and patriotic feeling. The main motive was to create the awareness not only among the students but also the members of the public. Towards this endeavor, active participation was seen in students with great enthusiasm and the spirit of freedom struggle was shown with tribute to martyrs to mark the importance of 75th Independence day.
