Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Management and IT, Nanak Piao one of the premier institutes of DSGMC organized the National Conference on “Interdisciplinary Academic Research and Innovation” on June 15, 2022. The programme commenced with the recitation of shabad as a tribute to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji and later lighting of the Ceremonial lamp. President, DSGMC S. Harmeet Singh Kalka Ji is always encouraging, motivating, and providing guidance and support for taking the progress of the Institute towards scaling new heights. We are thankful to S. Jagdip Singh Kahlon Ji, General Secretary, DSGMC for assuring a committed endeavour from DSGMC to bring all-round development with hallmark of quality and excellence. We are grateful to S. Bhajan Singh Walia Ji, Patron, Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi State) who encouraged the youth for the innovative ideas and thoughts to promote their hidden talents and entrepreneurship.
We are thankful to our Chief patrons Chairman, SGTBIMIT, Hon’ble S. M.P.S Chadha Ji and revered Co-Chairman S. Jasbir Singh Jassi Ji, for their never ending support and guidance to organize the National Conference. We are also extremely grateful for the benign presence of S. Trilochan Singh Ji, Vice-Chairman, SGTBIMIT. They have always worked to improve education quality and accommodate more and more opportunities in academic collaborations.
The Convenor of the National Conference Prof. (Dr.) Navneet Kaur, Director SGTBIMIT, enlightened the august gathering and encouraged them for promoting innovative and creative approaches that cross disciplinary boundaries in producing new information and knowledge. She focused on the recent trends and concerns, practical challenges and its solutions adopted in the field of Interdisciplinary Academic Research and Innovation. S. Verender Singh, Assistant Director, extended his continuous support in making the conference a success.
Our Key Note Speaker was Prof. (Dr.) Vijita Singh Aggarwal, Director, International Affairs, Guru Gobind Singh Indrprastha University. She is the recipient of the prestigious Easmus Mundus Scholarship for European Research Masters at University of London with more than 21 years of experience. She has a very strong interdisciplinary foundation which enables a holistic perspective. She has been consistently working on women issues and her focus is on the enhancement of cross cultural appreciation and experience of International students.
Our eminent Guests for the day were S. Amarjeet Singh Ji, DGM, Retired (Canara Bank), S. Satender Pal Singh Ji, Captain K.S. Sethi Ji, Retired (Sikh Regiment). The Guest Speakers were Mr. Sunil Grover, Manager, Union Bank of India, Mr. M.P. Garg, seasoned Banker with more than 30 years of banking experience, and Dr. Anuj Tripathi, Six Sigma Certified Techno Management Professional.
The conference was attended by eminent academicians, faculty members and students from reputed technical and educational institutions from different parts of the country and representatives from the industry. The students were enlightened and motivated about new discoveries and dynamic industry trends and innovations.
Around 100 papers were received from India and Abroad. These included papers from renowned universities like IIFT, University of Delhi, GGSIP University, Manav Rachna University, Amity University, MDU, FDDI, Northcap University, MG Kashi Vidyapeeth, Ministry of Commerce, Banasthali University, Ambala University, Thapar University, Manipal University etc.
The Conference proceedings on “Interdisciplinary Academic Research and Innovation” with ISBN No. 978-81-952917-1-7 was released by the eminent guests. We feel proud to share that our Journal “SGTBIMIT Journal of Management and Informatics Practices”, Vol. 2 with ISSN No 2583-1631 was also released.
