Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute Of Management and Information Technology, Nanak Piao, Delhi organised a NATIONAL SEMINAR on the topic “Contribution and Sacrifices of Sikhs towards Independence of India” on the eve of 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on August 24, 2022 in the college premises. The seminar was attended by the students of BCA, BBA and B&I along with the faculty members and researchers from other Institutes. The event started with the blessings of the Almighty with the recitation of Shabad by the students. We are grateful to the Management of our Institute to give us the opportunity to conduct such an event to enlighten all the students and staff members. We are also grateful to honourable S. M.P.S Chadha Ji, Chairman Sir, S. Jasbir Singh Jassi Ji, Co- Chairman Sir and Prof. (Dr.) Navneet Kaur, Director Ma'am under whose guidance such events are organzied in our Institute. S.Tarlochan Singh Ji, Padma Bhushan Awardee was the Keynote Speaker of the event. He was the Member of Parliament and represented Haryana in Rajya Sabha from 2004 to 2010. He published first ever 12 pages historic color Calendar in 1971. He focused on the context of Sikh martyrs and highlighted the valuable contribution of the Sikhs in the freedom movement who laid down their lives in the freedom of the country.S. Balbir Singh Kohli was the Guest of Honour of the event. He is the Senior Vice- President of World Punjabi Organisation, New Delhi, President of International Sikh Heritage Centre, chairman of Mata Gujri Public School. He took us to an Era of great revolutionaries who laid the foundation for independence and freedom from the shackles of the British regime. S. Jasmain Singh Noni Ji, Joint Secretary DSGMC, also graced the occasion by sharing his thoughts on the contribution of the Sikhs during and after the independence. In the end, vote of thanks was given by S. Verender Singh, Assistant Director Sir. It was a very successful event.
