The annual function is one of the most important events in the college calendar. Annual Function was celebrated at Shah Auditorium with great zest, vibrant and elation on October 13, 2016. Chief Guest of the function President, DSGMC S. Manjit Singh GK enriched the event with all his motivational and encouraging words directing the progress of the Institute towards scaling new heights in academic and extra-curricular activities. He congratulated the management and assured a committed endeavour from DSGMC to bring all-round development of our young generation with the hallmark of quality and excellence.The day was made more colourful with the cultural programmes. Cultural Events included Khalsa walk, Gatka, Dances, Band performance, Alumni walk, Stage Play which depicts the Sikh values. The entire programme was planned, conducted and coordinated by the students under the mentoring and grooming of teachers. This all was followed by the Prize Distribution ceremony. The day finally ended with a Vote of Thanks which was delivered by Assistant Director S.Verender Singh.

SGTBIMIT conducted its orientation day for BCA on August 1, 2017, BBA(G) on August 2, 2017, and BBA(B&I) on August 3, 2017.
SGTBIMIT became really passionate about the college years and what will take place in the following years. As a student, there is such a transition from home to full adulthood. It’s a big three years. We need to be intentional in helping students figure out their identity and discover who they are as individuals.
Prof (Dr.) Gurmeet Singh, Professor at Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi was the honourable speaker for the BCA orientation day. He motivated our youth by his words of wisdom and shared his experiences. Students appreciated his session.
Dr Gagan Deep Sharma, Assistant Professor at GGSIPU was the honourable speaker for the BBA(G) orientation day. His Area of Specialization includes Finance and Investments, Value-based Management, Corporate Strategy. He motivated the students and notified students with the GGSIPU norms.
CA Sandeep Kapoor was the honourable speaker for the BBA (B&I) orientation day. His Area of Specialization includes Finance and taxation. Students really inspired him after he was done with his motivational words.
The entire program was taken care by the cultural committee under the guidance of Director General, Director and Assistant Director.

Immediately after the start of the academic year, fresher’s start dreaming about FRESHER’S DAY which is celebrated compulsorily every year in SGTBIMIT. The very purpose of Fresher’s Day Party is to welcome newcomers in a friendly atmosphere and avoid social evils, to encourage their creative impulses to boost their confidence. It is the day where Seniors and Juniors finally bond and unite to celebrate being a part of the college. Students eagerly look forward to this event at the beginning of every academic year. The stage is set for Fresher’s to showcase their talent and compete for the Mr. & Miss. Fresher’s Titles. September 2, 2017, was marked as a memorable day in the life of every fresher of 2017 Batch. The Fresher’s Day was a day that was filled with excitement, joy, music, enthusiasm, laughter and happiness. The Dress Code for the freshers was “DRESS YOUR BEST”.
The venue for the fresher’s party was Raftaar @ Punjabi Bagh.

“Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Management & Information Technology” affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, under the management of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee organized Farewell Party “ADIEU’2017” on April 26, 2017 at Green Lounge banquet, Wazirpur, where students of B.B.A. and B.C.A. 1st & 2nd year bid farewell to the outgoing students of final year with great enthusiasm. The function began with a floral welcome of Guests Prof. (Dr.) D.S. Jaggi (Director- General), Prof. (Dr.) Navneet Kaur (Director), S. Verender Singh (Assistant Director) and Dr Maninder Kaur (Dean) by staff and students.
The dignitaries wished good luck to the final year students for their future. They also expressed their hope that students will continue holding best positions in upcoming university exams. Students of final year participated in ‘Mr. & Ms SGTBIMIT’ which was judged by Ms Inderpreet Kaur (HOD BBA), Ms Amanpreet Kaur (HOD BCA), Ms Divya Sharma (HOD BBA) and Ms Bipasha Chodhary (HOD BBA Banking and Insurance). Different tags were awarded to the students. “Ms Manvika Rawat” was crowned with the title of ‘Ms SGTBIMIT’ and “Mr Jagnit Singh” was awarded the title of ‘Mr. SGTBIMIT’. Some exciting games were also arranged for the students and were enjoyed by all. SGTBIMIT incorporates the mission to impart quality education to students so that they can excel in their lives not only academically but also culturally and with this motive the Institute with all the final year students to have bright future ahead.
SGTBIMIT organised its first inter-college fest IT-VIDWAN-2016 on September 23, 2016, which comprised of events like Just – A- Minute, Technical Debate, IT Paper Presentation, Technical Quiz, Sudoku, Technical poster Making, Programming skills, Lan Gaming and Developing Guru. The fest was inaugurated by special guest of the event S. Gurminder Singh Matharu, Chairman Higher Education, DSGMC. Over 150 students from different colleges of Delhi NCR participated making this event grand and successful. All the participants were awarded participation certificates. Winners and runner-ups of the events were awarded cash prize along with the certificates. The motive was to help the students in overall personality development by showcasing their skills and talent. Eminent personalities of different expertise were there to judge the event.
Education and competition are two common elements of all human values. Any kind of competition plays an important role in academic achievement because it helps students to know their strengths and improve their performance.SGTBIMIT organized Rangoli competition during Diwali not only to enhance student’s imagination but also to intact our Indian tradition. Our objective is to encourage students to celebrate festivals in an innovative way. Organizing such events help students to remain in close touch with their culture. Rangoli Competitions play an important role in motivating students to perform and outshine in their creative skills. It offers a chance for participants to gain substantial experience, adopt innovative techniques, showcase talents, analyze and evaluate outcomes and uncover personal ability.

Our institute takes recycling and its benefits very seriously. Recycling efforts range from placing recycling receptacles in all campus buildings, to using recycled materials whenever possible in new construction and renovation. The Institute has focused on making it easy for all students, faculty, staff and visitors to recycle.
